Bartlett Endorsed by Educators
May 24, 2010
Incumbent Senator Phil Bartlett has received the endorsement of the Maine Education Association (MEA) in his bid for reelection in Senate District 6, which includes Gorham, Scarborough and Westbrook.
"I am pleased to receive the MEA's endorsement," said Bartlett. "A strong public education system, from kindergarten through college, is essential to building a robust economy."
Bartlett, who is completing his third term in the Maine Senate, graduated from Gorham High School in 1994 before going on to Tufts University and Harvard Law School.
"I was fortunate to have wonderful teachers who challenged me, encouraged me, and prepared me for college," said Bartlett. "It is important that we continue to strive for excellence in our public schools to maximize the opportunities available to our graduates."
Bartlett currently serves as the Senate Majority Leader, and he has been certified as a Clean Elections candidate.
